More On Crossfit
CrossFit Unleashed offers uniquely effective fitness classes, as well as individual, and small group coaching. We emphasize fundamental, functional movements with proper technique. You’ll learn and get fit with ever-changing workouts that combine bodyweight exercises, weightlifting, and a huge variety of high-intensity drills that combine cardio and strength challenges.
We start you at a level appropriate to your individual fitness level and experience by varying the load and intensity. The CrossFit program is designed for scalability and can make you dramatically fitter regardless of your age or fitness level.
We make workouts more varied and more fun by using resources that most commercial gyms don’t have, including gymnastics equipment such as the rings and parallettes; bumper-plates for weightlifting (rubber plates that can be safely dropped); medicine balls in a range of weights; and kettlebells.
Crossfit Unleashed delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. It is a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains – endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
The CrossFit program was developed to enhance an individual’s competency at all physical tasks. Clients are trained to perform successfully at multiple, diverse, and randomized physical challenges. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many fire academies, police academies, tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
CrossFit is not easy and it’s not simple. To be fit and physically competent to handle all of the challenges in life is no small endeavor. As you work to become a fitter and healthier person, you will need to learn about:
Functional Movements – How to move safely and effectively.
Fitness – What it means to be fit. Its definition, the supporting theories, and how to go about attaining it in real life.
Nutrition – Eat meat & vegetables, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise, but not body fat.
Education is a big part of CrossFit. When you start, you are not expected to have the knowledge you need.
CrossFit is an education about movement, fitness, nutrition and community. All of these things require responsibility, common sense, and work to educate oneself using all the tools available in the community.
